This time an off the shoulder dress! You want to see along? See below for the prep instructions:\n\n\n1. Pre-wash\, dry\, and iron your fabric before cutting. Lightweight woven fabrics work best for this loose-fit dress style.\n2. Fold your fabric in half with the right sides facing inward. You will need about 2.25 yards of fabric for most knee- to midi-length dresses.\n3. Find a sleeveless T-shirt or tank top that fits comfortably. This will be used as the bodice guide for the dress.\n4. Lay the T-shirt flat on top of the folded fabric.\n5. To create the one-shoulder shape:\n * Leave one shoulder and armhole in its normal position\n * Tuck the opposite armhole inward so that side forms a straight line from the underarm to the top shoulder area\n6. Trace around the T-shirt shape to create the bodice outline.\n7. Add:\n * ½ inch seam allowance around all edges\n * 1–2 inches extra at the bottom for the hem\n * Extra width along the sides if you want a more oversized or flowy fit\n8. Extend the side seams downward to your desired dress length. Slightly flare the sides outward toward the bottom if you want more movement and fullness.\n9. Cut out dress pieces.\n\nNeckline and Armhole Finish\n\n10. You can finish the single armholes using:\n\n* Store-bought bias tape\, or\n* Homemade bias strips made from the same fabric\n\n11. Cut 2 fabric straps:\n\n* Width: 4 inches\n* Length: Measure around the neckline and under arm \, then add 20 inches for the shoulder tie extensions. Cut 2\n\n12. The straps will be used to finish:\n\n* The neckline\n* The underarm opening\n* The shoulder tie area\n\nBottom Ruffle\n\n13. To create the bottom ruffle:\n\n* Cut fabric strips 12 inches wide\n* The total ruffle length should equal 1.5–2 times the circumference of the dress hem for proper gathering and fullness\n\n14. Example:\n\n* If the dress hem measures 40 inches around:\n * Moderate ruffle fullness = 60 inches\n * Fuller ruffle look = 80 inches\n\n15. Optional:\n\n* Cut 4 pockets if you like pockets \n* Use lightweight interfacing around the neckline if the fabric is very soft or stretchy\n\nOriginal Dress Designed by: @DianaDemarchiIDD\n\nWant to create live streams like this?
